The Huntington County Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business committee hosts a luncheon series designed to inform community members on various topics of interest. Last week’s topic was Marketing and Public Relations 101 – presented by our very own Amy Mattox.
Amy discussed the importance of marrying traditional marketing with digital marketing. She went into depth about the importance of knowing one’s audience, researching and marketing planning, public relations campaigning, and digital marketing strategy.
“Amy’s presentation was concise and clear,” said Joe Santa, a member of the Chamber Small Business Committee. “She knows her stuff. She was able to break down the importance of marketing your business as well as how to target your audience.”
In the area of digital marketing, Amy discussed the importance of having a plan for using social media. She specifically addressed using Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn. The attendees were challenged to brainstorm marketing objectives for e-marketing and to explore the possibilities of developing mobile apps and video marketing (specifically the use of Vine).
